Your Fine Art Portrait Shoot

Thank you for commissioning me to shoot your portrait. Whilst you will have seen that my portrait work has a particular style every shoot is different because every sitter is different. I want the experience to be as enjoyable as possible for you and am here to guide you every step of the way. These are the steps we’ll go through between now and you receiving your photographs or wall art.

Getting To Know You

We will start off with a meeting in person or via video conference to discuss what you are hoping for from the shoot, what images of mine you like and whether there are specific pieces of art you have in mind.

If you are arranging the shoot for a child it would be great to have them join the call too.

At this meeting we will pencil in prospective dates for the shoot.

Confirming The Shoot

After our call I will send you a quote for the services we have discussed and confirm the available dates.

Shoot prices are available on my price list.

For portrait shoots a professional stylist can also be booked for £200 (subject to availability).

You will need to pay for the shoot upfront in order to confirm the booking.

Preparing For The Shoot

We will discuss elements of clothing, wardrobe, hair etc. in our initial call but between confirming the shoot and the shoot day I will be available for discussion about anything you want. Feel free to email me, WhatsApp me, or share a Pinterest board with me.

Having a portrait made is not something that happens every day and any concerns that can be dealt with before hand will make your shoot more enjoyable.

The Shoot Day

My portrait sessions are intended to be a relaxed and personal experience.

For shoots in my studio or a rented space there will be facilities and a private changing area. Location shoots may be a little less luxurious but we’ll plan around the location.

There is nothing for you to do on shoot day except turn up, relax and have fun. I’ll guide you through the process and listen to any concerns or ideas you have.

Selecting Your Images

After the shoot, typically within two weeks, I will have prepared a curated selection of images for you.

The images will be processed so that they are correctly framed and exposed but will not be fully retouched.

They will be made available to you in an online gallery that we will both browse through in a video call or in person so that you can pick out the shots you would like to have prepared for fine art printing.

At this time we may also discuss any particular images that you might intend to use as large wall art.

Order Your Images and Artworks

You can either order prints and wall art direct from the online gallery, or if you want more select papers, or bespoke frames I can help with design and layouts.

An example price list can be seen here as well as some examples of the products you might consider buying.

This is not an exhaustive list and custom layouts can be made to fit a particular space in your home.

You will need to pay for the processing and printing order in full prior to the images being processed and printed.

Collect Your Artworks

This is the exciting day where you come to collect your artworks. Whether it is a selection of fine art prints, canvases, or framed wall art I love unveiling the finished works.

Take time to have a coffee with us before going home and hanging them on your wall.
